F U Bingo Wing

This week as I was driving to work, I was listening to the radio and heard the DJs discussing one of the surgical procedures that has grown very rapidly in popularity. They were speaking about the surgical procedure to remove or reduced the “Bingo Wing”. This is the term that they referred to the loose skin or fat that is most noticeable when someone lifts their arm to wave. I am sure you can visualize this without further explanation. For any one who is unaware, this is the triceps region of the arm.

Why do people feel that they should take the easy way out? Exercise is hard and weight loss can be very frustrating, I understand that. But to resort to surgery when you can accomplish what you want naturally seems like cheating. Cheater Cheater Pumpkin Eater. It’s like saying that you beat a video game but knowing that you used cheat codes the whole way through. You accomplished the same result, and you may or may not disclose your cheating ways to those around you, but in the end you have to be happy with how you got to the end point.

I don’t want to knock plastic surgery altogether. There are some things that you simply will never be able to change on your own. For example, reducing your nose size, increasing your cup size, or pinning your ears back. If it makes you feel better about yourself, go for it. What can sometimes irk me are those procedures that are unnecessary because you can do it yourself. I am a big proponent of self empowerment and self improvement. The way one decides to go about that is their choice, but as someone who has achieved her fitness goals without a tube, implant, scalpel, or suture, I can tell you that you feel a great sense of pride when you know that you are 100% responsible for your own success.

This “Bingo Wing” is not an affliction only known to obese people. Even those who do not have a high body fat percentage can have some lose skin in this area. Before I started my fitness journey, I could make my own bingo wing jiggle. Keep in mind that I was quite lean to begin with and yet I could still find it. Doesn’t this tell you that removing this with surgery will not solve your problem? What you need to do is not only lose fat but also build the muscle in that area. If the muscle is firm, it will not jiggle.

If you are someone who has the terribly named “Bingo Wing”, I want to share a few exercises that I do every tricep day. Keep in mind that you need to push yourself. Using a minuscule amount of weight is not going to give you the results that you seek. It has to be hard. Type the following exercises into Youtube to see how to properly execute these moves.

Bench Dips – For extra difficulty, perform this move with a weight on your lap or increase your speed

Triceps Kickback – This can be done with one arm at a time or both arms at the same time

Skull Crushers – Don’t drop the weight!

Triceps pressdown

These are just some exercises that you can do for the triceps. Make sure to do your own research to see if there are other exercises out there that you would rather do. Lets banish the “Bingo Wing” together!
